Over £400 of our deposit was held for cleaning, it was communicated to us this was as a result of spider webs and dust- although the property had been empty for a while before the inspection was carried out. There was major damage in the hallway which had exposed brick and would grow mould, we were told the landlord did not want to damp proof the property as it would mean the property would be empty for that duration (could be done between tenancies). Instead opted to plaster and then replaster continuously when the wall would grow fluffy mould.
